Silo Relocation
Progressive Millwrights Inc. safely relocated, erected, leveled, and anchored a 13,500 lb silo using coordinated multi-crane operations and precision rigging.
Progressive Millwrights Inc. was engaged to perform the complete relocation of a 32’ x 12’ diameter silo weighing approximately 13,500 lbs. Our scope included providing skilled mechanical labour, specialized rigging tools, and heavy-lift equipment to ensure a safe and efficient move. The project began at the silo’s original site, where our crew used a 60-ton crane to carefully lift and load the unit onto a transport truck. Detailed lift planning and secure load handling were critical at this stage to protect both the asset and surrounding infrastructure.
Upon arrival at the new location, our team executed a coordinated offload using the same 60-ton crane. The erection process required precise crane choreography, with the 60-ton crane as the primary hoist and a 30-ton tailing crane managing the base to maintain stability while the silo was brought upright. Once positioned over the prepared concrete pad, the silo was accurately aligned, leveled, and securely anchored to meet operational and safety requirements.
This project demonstrated our expertise in complex lifts, multi-crane operations, and the careful integration of planning, transport, and installation. From initial load-out to final anchoring, every stage was executed with precision and adherence to safety protocols — ensuring the client received a fully operational and securely installed asset ready for service.
